The quotation marks in the title are a reference to the necessary distancing from the content presented here.
Many people in Germany feel that they are being massively and unfairly disadvantaged under the current circumstances. While this seems understandable in some cases, caution is nevertheless advised: The reasons for systemic discrimination are complex. And descriptions, explanations, and solutions must be equally complex.
Because almost everyone agrees on one thing:
There is an urgent need for political change.
But the question “How exactly?” is rarely considered in detail or even discussed in a nuanced way on social media.
Instead, we find short, emotional outbursts, personal attacks, and above all: a great deal of racism and exclusion.
This video falls into this category.
It is designed to be ironic. Nevertheless, the content has a clear connection to current political debates. It aims to portray the problems that citizens are supposedly plagued by.
Among other things, it deals with:
Illegal entry into Germany
Scene at the train station: A police officer speaks to the camera while, in the background, supposed “illegal immigrants” arrive and are greeted with applause.
Scene from a press conference: “Illegal immigrants” automatically become German citizens.
Scene at the government office: A person with no knowledge of the German language is (implicitly) granted German citizenship.
Scene in a gym: A muscular man temporarily identifies as a woman in order to be allowed to use the women’s showers. Otherwise, he threatens to press charges.
Scene at a school: Children are required to memorize 73 genders instead of playing. Reason given: playing is toxically masculine.
Scene in court:
A person is sentenced disproportionately harshly for tax evasion.(5 € = 7 years in prison). Previously, another person had also received a verdict. For “indecent touching […]” there is one week of probation.
Szene auf der Straße:
Two men are being interviewed. The first one (older) says that after 30 years of hard work on construction sites, he earns “1500 € net” per month. The second man cheerfully says that he’s been set for life thanks to the COVID testing center he opened years ago.
The following video is also ironic and dramatic. In the form of a news report, it’s about the “Millennium Heatwave.”
Apparently, the blame lies with “a single individual who failed to separate their trash correctly.”
The third video serves as a positive contrast to the two previous ones.
The message is apolitical, clear, and direct: “You might still be able to tell that this is AI. But with each passing day, it’s becoming harder.”
