The possibilities of the new Veo 3 AI model are impressive.
Shortly after its release at the end of May 2025, it becomes clear that a new level has been reached.
It is no longer just about the visually realistic representation of specific scenes.
Instead, it is about playing with human perception and the modern phenomenon of perceiving one's surroundings largely through digital information channels.
The result is videos that treat their own authenticity as a theme. Ironically, this is done in the style of news programs, sometimes with reporters “on location.”
The following “broadcast” is about the penny coin in the USA.
While the visual presentation appears fundamentally authentic, the message conveyed in the report seems absurd and unrealistic.
The following video takes a similar approach.
It begins with what appears to be a news report. However, in this example, the “news” does not seem ironic or fictional in the first few seconds.
The visual presentation, on the other hand, develops in an extremely ironic and comic-like manner.
This creates an interesting discrepancy between the visual and content levels.
The last example is limited to scenes within “TV studios.”
Various presentations for supposed news items are running. While no irony is apparent on a visual level, the content of the contributions is clearly satirical in nature.
