Since the release of Sora 2, there has been an increasing number of fakes in social media feeds.

The new level of visual realism (+ sound) is causing great amazement—and viral dissemination of the clips.

With this latest coup from OpenAI, the issue of AI + fake news is being elevated to a new level of public awareness.

Given the apparent increase in the quality of AI models, it seems (as of 2025) that visual evidence will be rendered absurd in the near future.

This might become a problem.

Content that is currently trending initially appears to be meaningless and a waste of time. (AI Slop)

But what it implies requires a second thought:

The evidential value of images is fading.

Content is becoming arbitrary.
